The second day of the G7 summit in Évian, France, is underway. The topics on the agenda include Russia's war on Ukraine, the situation in the Middle East and international partnerships.

Following a working session with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in the morning, US President Donald Trump called on Russia to engage in peace negotiations and reach a settlement to end the war.

"Russia should make a deal. Russia has lost tremendous amounts of people, and so has Ukraine," Trump said on the sidelines of the G7 summit.
