Tehran says no current talks with US, Oman meetings ongoing

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei says in regards to talks with the US, there are no plans to receive a delegation or send an Iranian one. Baghaei adds that a new Strait of Hormuz shipping route being discussed with Oman will be one path with entry and exit lanes.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump had said an agreement with Iran was imminent and negotiations would begin on Monday.

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian urges the US to “remain committed” to the memorandum of understanding signed between the two countries in June and says the interim deal “will be the centre of gravity” of Tehran’s “foreign relations in the future”.
